Rules Regarding Clubs (READ!)
1. Anyone can join any club. You cannot restrict the members of your club no matter what. If a person wants to join, they are allowed to join. Selective membership easily divides a forum.
2. There are no leaders in the clubs. This can cause battles for power. You can have 'founders', the people who make the clubs, but no leaders.
3. All club threads must be kept in the Clubs forum.
4. Whilst a club cannot deny a certain person entry, they can however, have a list of members. If a member is inactive for a while, their name can be taken off the list.
5. Each person may only join three clubs.
6. All clubs will have to be approved by a moderator. To have an approved club visit the Club Application thread and put in your application. A moderator will approve it within a few days. Any threads that have not been approved will be locked.
7. If you would like to make a new club, make sure they follow the rules, are NOT a repeat, and will gain members.
8. I love xx clubs are not allowed. You can make a general club, such as the book club or the fangirls club or whatever, but you cannot make an I love xx club. Examples of I love xx clubs are "Star Wars Club", "Harry Potter Series Club", "Edward Cullen Club", etc.
9. Please read the rules and guidelines before joining or making a club.
Why We Have These Rules
As much as these clubs are fun, they can also divide a forum.
On many other forums there are different groups that separate the members. These groups can become exclusive and sometimes mean. To a newbie it is extremely intimidating to join a forum where everybody belongs to a certain club that they can't be part of. We want to prevent this from happening.
However, these clubs are fun, and are a great way to make friends. You can chat in the threads about interests that others share.
It may seem a little overly-cautious, but take it from someone who has joined and left forums, clubs can be a bad idea, and can be a very good idea. There's nothing worse than going onto a forum and being rejected by a club, while there's nothing better than being accepted and welcomed into a special group by people like yourself. We just want to make sure that we use the clubs in a good way.
