Usergroups
So far, the only usergroups we have are normal users (you are a normal user when you join), moderators, and administrators. I'll let you know a little bit about those last two groups right here.
A moderator (mod for short) is someone who has the ability to do things such as edit posts, merge posts, delete topics and things of that sort. You can tell who they are because they'll have orange usernames. Anyone who claims to be a mod who has not officially been made a mod or does not have an orange username should not be believed (if you find one of these, let the existing mods and the administrators know and we'll let you know if their username is a glitch or if they're a phony.)
Administrators (like myself) are people who have more control of the forum - we can ban users, delete topics, add forums and subforums, delete forums and subforums, change the heading and the settings of the site, etc. We'll have red names.
If the site becomes a big enough site I might add another usergroup called "Site Team", they'll most likely have purple usernames and will have limited additions to their power - they'll mainly probably just backseat mod, which is a phrase as warn you not to doublepost etc.
DO NOT ASK ME OR BEG TO BECOME A MODERATOR OR AN ADMINISTRATOR. Becoming a mod or an admin is a privilege and is not one that you will earn by saying "please please please please please" over and over again. If we're short someone on the mod/admin team, I will pick someone who I trust who is responsible and ask them if they want to become a mod. You won't be proving your responsibility or trustworthiness by begging to become one, so don't ask.
